It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to pass on the news that Jimmyc Coletsis lost his two year battle with cancer today. I have had the honour of knowing Jimmy for more than 20 years and this summer would have been the 20th anniversary of his band Jimmy C and the Bluesdragons. It is such a sad loss for his entire family, for Aga and Kosmas and Rachela in particular, and we will all miss him deeply.

I shall always remember though the joy of playing along with him, to feeling the warmth that he had for every audience that he played for, and to feel that warmth reflected back from every audience no matter how large or small, and even though it was directed at Jimmy the musicians playing with him could feel a part of that warmth as well.

Jimmy always had the greatest respect for the musicians that played with him, he never dominated the stage, he always allowed them to shine and helped them to do as well as they could and every gig was better for it.

There were many Bluesdragons over the years, too many for me to name individually, but you know who you are, but on behalf of the original Bluesdragons, who first played in a pub in Camden that got burned down, that had a residency at the Lord Cecil, now sadly gone let me say, on my behalf and that of Stevie Bray and Antonio Campbell that we will miss you Jimmyc but you will always be in our hearts...

No news good News Jimmy used to say... and he was right as it’s time for some news and it is bad news. Today, after weeks of suffering, two years since it started- my husband, my best friend, dad to Kosmas and Rachela, son, brother, cousin, uncle, best blues and rock n’ roll player i have ever seen and met, Jimmyc Coletsis has lost his battle with cancer.

With his big smile, beautiful mop of hair and never ending energy, he has left us to play in God’s blues band and i bet as the lead guitarist and singer. We kept fighting with him and for him until the last day with our hopes and dreams but it was like trying to stop a big rolling stone. During the hard two years he hasn’t stopped playing for a moment and kept people dancing and having fun until nearly last days, often in pain and exhausted, which was making me cry as he was determined not to give up playing.

There will be a long list of thank yous and more announcements but in the meantime if you ever met/ liked Jimmy and his music please share his song ‘everybody gets the blues’ everywhere 🙏 in his memory and feel free to share as many stories and pictures and videos as you can, let’s keep Jimmy alive because we live as long as we are remembered.

Jimmy was an artist by heart and he definitely would love to know his music is going to be kept alive forever. And feel free to message me any time, i may not be able to reply asap but i will reply to all of you and i am happy to share with you memories and time to talk about Jimmy, as it’s what Jimmy would like me to do. Heartbroken, Devastated, Missing him already... 😞
And his own personal message/ poem will be posted soon on his account as well.
