The Nagasaki 3

The Old Neptune, Saturday 8 September 2012

Starting as they meant to continue our favourite Rockabilly / Surf / Punk / Garage band The Nagasaki 3 hit The Neptune stage running.

After a scorchingly hot day they looked set to take the night’s temperature a lot higher! Steve their lead guitarist and singer had that look of determination that told me this was going to be go ..."I’m just hot" he said at half time and so were the entire band in terms of the music as well…in full rock’n’roll regalia they took us through Shakin’ All Over, Folsom Prison Blues and Wipe Out and a whole lot more with Adam the bass player and Jakey the drummer  laying down a great rhythm section.

Steve’s dedication to the different genres of music they play is obvious to anyone who loves this stuff ! Soon the whole packed Neppy was rocking with the floor moving up and down as the crowd generally went bananas ! …

Being an old geezer I stepped aside from the 'mosh pit' where the dancers were having a great time, and drank, watched and listened as the band  gave it their all …

By the time they got to Train Kept A'Rollin' a rockabilly classic which I  suspect isn’t actually about a train! the crowd had gone nuts … and by the finale Louie, Louie with it’s refrain of 'I’ve got to go now!' band, punters, and all were hyperventilating !

If you can get in the pub (they’re getting deservedly well known) catch The Nagasaki 3 when you can … but you may need a nice quiet lay down afterwards!
